During the three -month internship at Southeast Bank Limited, I got the opportunity to work in the General Banking Department and Credit Risk Management Department. During this period, I gained knowledge of various basic activities including opening accounts, cash transactions, remittance management, check clearing and loan processing. Furthermore, these experiences, I got an important idea about customer relationship management, document process and compatibility with the rules of Bangladesh Bank.
Moreover, this report also highlights how Southeast Bank maintains financial stability by identifying, evaluating and controlling credit risks. Here the bank’s credit appraisal process, risk grading system, and monitoring mechanisms are analyzed, which helps reduce the loan defaulter risk, the report also evaluated aspects of increasing skills and accuracy in the daily activities through digital banking initiatives and automatic arrangements of the bank.

Origin of the Internship Report
This internship report has been prepared as a compulsory part of my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program. According to the academic curriculum, each student has to complete the internship to gain experience in real workforce.
To meet this requirement, I started an internship at Southeast Bank Limited, one of the top private commercial banks in Bangladesh. As a subject of the report, I have selected “General Banking and Credit Risk Management”, so that connection between theoretical knowledge and practical banking activities can be established.

Limitations of the Internship Report
While preparing this report, I faced several limitations that affected the depth of analysis.
Firstly, the three-month internship period limited my exposure to all departments and activities of the bank. Second, due to the bank’s privacy policy, I could not access certain financial and strategic information. Third, some internal documents were unavailable, which restricted the study of all operations.
Secondly, the busy work environment of bank officials limited the time available for detailed interviews. In some cases, I also encountered a lack of updated secondary information, making comparisons between past and current performance difficult. Finally, understanding complex banking processes required extra guidance and learning time.
Despite this challenge, I have made the most effort to collect the correct and relevant information. As a result, the report is capable of providing realistic and practical ideas for the activities of Southeast Bank Limited.
