1. Overview of Peking University

Peking University (PKU) was founded in 1898 as the Imperial University of Peking. It is China’s first national and integrated university. In 1912, its name was changed to Peking University. Currently, the university conducts education and research on various topics including Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Economics and Management and Health Sciences.

Currently, PKU has over 48,600 students. Of these, about 2,500 international students. Over 12,600 teachers and staff worked at the university. The PKU has 6 main faculty, 55 school and department, 60 research entity and 10 affiliated Hospital. At the graduate level PKU currently operates 137 undergraduate Major under 11 subjects and 51 major subjects.

The university also has opportunities for Graduate and Doctoral Program as well as international students, visiting students, Chinese Language and Short-term Study Program.

4. Admission Requirements

  • Undergraduate: High School Diploma or equivalent educational qualifications.
  • Graduate: Bachelor’s Degree for Master’s Degree and Master’s Degree for PhD.
  • Academic Transcripts: Official academic transcript must be submitted.
  • Language skills: English language skills are required for the Chinese-taught program for HSK and English-taught program.
  • Personal Statement: You must submit.
  • Recommendation Letters: Graduate applicants need 2 Recommendation Letters.
