1. University Overview

UCL (University College London) is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary universities and the oldest university in London. Established in 1826, UCL was the first university in England, where students were admitted regardless of religious identity. Similarly, it is one of the earliest universities given the opportunity to higher education on women’s equivalent conditions.

This progressive and inclusive mentality is still one of the characteristics of UCL. The main campus of UCL is located at Gower Street in Bloomsbury area in central London. About 50,000 students from more than 150 countries around the world study here, about half of them international students. As a result, UCL is known as one of England’s most international and diverse universities.

According to Research Excellence Framework 2021, UCL is considered the second most powerful research institution in the United Kingdom. There are 33 Nobel laureate in the university’s alumni and staff. UCL has consistently ranked among the top 10 universities in the world. 4. Eligibility Requirements

  • Undergraduate: UCAS application (UCL code U80).
  • A Levels: A*A*A to ABB depending on the course.
  • International Baccalaureate: 34-40 points overall with 16-20 in three Higher Level subjects.
  • GCSE: English Language and Maths at Grade 4/C minimum for all courses.
  • English language: IELTS or TOEFL for all applicants.
  • Master's: UK First or 2:1 Honours (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant subject, plus IELTS 7.0 (typical).
  • PhD: relevant Master's degree, research proposal, supervisor agreement, and an interview.
