1. Overview University of Tokyo

The University of Tokyo was founded in 1877 as the first modern national university in Japan. It is also known as UTokyo or Todai. It is currently one of Asia’s leading higher education and scientific research institutes. The university’s main campuses are located in Hongo, Hongo, Komaba, and Kashiwa.

The university has 10 undergraduate faculties and 15 graduate schools. Besides, there are numerous research institutes and academic institutions. Undergraduate Admission

• Educational Qualification: 12 years of formal education must be completed or equivalent educational qualifications.
• Academic Results: There must be good academic results in previous education.
• Japanese language skills: Japanese language skills are required for admission in most undergraduate programs.
• Program through English: There are separate admission conditions for programs operated in English.
• TOEFL iBT: 90 or higher for the USTEP undergraduate exchange program.
• IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5 or higher for the USTEP undergraduate exchange program.

Master's Admission

• Educational Qualification: Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from recognized universities. Usually 16 years of education is required.
